The HIGHST crew are tourists visiting the Leschenault estuary at Ridley Place. Below are the concept sketches that would have acted as a guide when painting the artwork.

Scene 1

Hudson leads his crew around a tour bus that has stopped at Ridley Place Foreshore. As he gets out of the bus he points out the huge crab playground. (location is opposite a unique crab playground). Lawrence the Giraffe pokes his head out of the bus and looks in awe, Dunstan the gorilla waves to the locals, while Alexis ignores Hudson as she’s too busy letting her followers know what she’s up to.

Scene 2

Hudson spots a familiar face and makes his way to the shoreline. It’s his friend Mooney the Eastern Curlew, who he befriended while in the Arctic region. Hudson gently leans down to say “What up Mooney!”.

Scene 3

After his chat to Mooney, Hudson decides it’s time to freshen up and check out what’s underneath the estuary and dives into the water. H quickly discovers his too close to a Blue Swimmer Crab, whose having a blast on a swing and reaches out to nip Hudson on the nose.

Scene 4

Hudson gets his distance from the Blue Swimmer crab and discovers they’re having as much fun as the humans on the playground. A dad crab is preparing some snacks, while the Mum is attempting to get the kids attentions.
